Alberto Aquilani is leaving Fiorentina as a free agent, but the ex-Liverpool midfielder has “interest from abroad.”

His contract is due to expire at the end of this month and there seems to be no sign of a renewal.

“We did speak to Fiorentina, but they are dealing with the Coach problem, so have to wait,” agent Andrea D’Amico told Gazzetta TV.

“There is interest from abroad. His career speaks for itself, as he is only 31 years old and at the height of his physical vigour.”

In fact the former Roma and Juventus man won’t turn 31 until next month, but this season he managed 34 appearances for the Viola in all competition, scoring one goal.
