Alberto Aquilani has officially started his coaching career in the Fiorentina youth academy. “A new chapter opens.”
He has been appointed Coach of the Under-18 team in the Viola youth set-up.
“A new chapter of my life officially opens,” wrote Aquilani on Instagram.
“I thank Fiorentina for this opportunity that I have been given. I chose and strongly wanted this job, with the conviction I can pass on to my new lads all the experience I accumulated during these years of my career.”

The 35-year-old retired last summer after playing for Roma, Triestina, Liverpool, Juventus, Milan, Fiorentina, Sporting CP, Pescara, Sassuolo and Las Palmas.
He wore the Viola jersey from 2012 to 2015, making 105 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals with 11 assists.
