Mirko Antonucci has revealed that his goal is to establish himself at Roma and admitted that it’s “strange” to see Alessandro Florenzi play at Valencia.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Vitòria Setúbal in Portugal and appeared five times before the season was suspended also there.
The Italy Under-21 international explained that the experience seems similar to what is going on in Italy at the moment, after having talked to Nicolò Zaniolo.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at Vitòria Setúbal in Portugal and appeared five times before the season was suspended also there.
The Italy Under-21 international explained that the experience seems similar to what is going on in Italy at the moment, after having talked to Nicolò Zaniolo.
“It’s the same here, like in Italy, the situation is not easy,” he told Tuttomercatoweb. “Like my other teammates who arrived at Vitoria during the transfer market in January, we are stuck in the hotel. Everything else is closed.
“I train every day. The idea is to make the most out of the current situation. I dedicate the rest of my time to the Playstation and call my relatives and friends. I try, like everyone else, to pass time in some way.
“I spoke to Nicolò Zaniolo. The situation is what everyone is seeing and experiencing. It’s surreal but if we commit, in our own small way, we will be able to overcome it.”
He revealed that he chose a move to Vitoria after having discussed the opportunities with the Portuguese coach Paulo Fonseca at Roma, but his goal is to become an important asset for the Giallorossi in the future.
“I talked about this opportunity with Mr. Fonseca and he gave me some positive inputs for a different and new experience,” he added. “Before I accepted, I also spoke to Julio Velazquez, the Vitoria coach, and I liked what he presented me.
“I immediately noticed the great technical level. There are four or five teams, like Benfica, Porto, Sporting Lisbon and Braga, who are very well prepared, with top quality players.
“My idea is to continue to develop and become an important player at Roma.”
Antonucci pointed out that it is weird to see former captain Alessandro Florenzi play for a different team.
Florenzi moved on loan to Valencia in January and the youngster hopes to see the right-back at the Olimpico again next campaign.
“It’s a bit strange to see him wear another shirt,” Antonucci revealed. “Alessandro was a leader in the dressing room and has always given everything to Roma.
“I don’t know what will happen next season, but I certainly hope [he will be back]. He is one of the teammates I am closes too and he helped me a lot.”
