Genoa defender Luca Antonini has denied taunting Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegri after scoring the winner against the Bianconeri on Wednesday.

The full-back scored a 94th minute goal to hand the Grifone a 1-0 victory over the Old Lady on Wednesday night, and he immediately ran toward the Juventus bench.

However, the 32-year-old has denied that he was aiming to prove a point to the Coach who he worked under at Milan.

“I was in the position to score the goal because [Genoa Coach Gian Piero] Gasperini told me to attack as well as defend,” Antonini explained to Italia 1.

“Celebrating in front of Allegri’s bench? No, I was running in that direction because that’s where my wife was.

“I’ve already resolved the issue [with Allegri], it was just a celebration for my wife who saw me suffer a during a less positive moment in my career.

“After a year under Leonardo [at Milan], who is a Coach I hold very dear, I thought I’d get a run in the team under Allegri.

“Evidently as a Coach he didn’t like me very much, but I don’t understand why. I always did my best, but in a lot of games I was made to play out of position.”

Antonini then aimed another barb at Allegri, in offering his tip for the Scudetto this season.

“The Scudetto will be won by Roma.”
