Luca Antonini has revealed that he will take up coaching once his playing days at Genoa are over.
The full-back has been plagued by knee troubles in recent seasons, and has admitted that he already has one eye on the touchline.
“I’ll coach when I retire,” he told Il Secolo XIX. “I’ve already taken my UEFA B licence – I’ve already learned so much.
“I know about the tactical side of the game having played many different positions in my career.”
The 31-year-old then commented on his recurrent injuries which curtailed his season last time out.
“The knee problem? That’s fixable. The problem last year wasn’t necessarily the injury, but the pain it was causing me.
“I’m glad I sacrificed myself for Genoa though.”
