The defender left Milan for the Rossoblu in the summer and he has impressed during his eight League appearances so far this term.

As a result, there are suggestions that the 31-year-old could be back on the radar of Azzurri tactician Cesare Prandelli.

“I’m not thinking about the national side,” he stated after the 1-0 win over Parma on Wednesday. “All I’m focused on is doing the best for my club side.”

Antonini has never played for Italy, but he was included in the squad for Prandelli’s first game in charge against the Ivory Coast in 2010.
