“It’s going to be a different, more determined Fiorentina,” assured the team manager and Viola icon on Sky Sport Italia.

“We are coming off four consecutive defeats and, as luck would have it, are now up against the Serie A leaders, so it’s not as if we are lacking in motivation.

“I saw the team focused and calm during the week, they are convinced that they can get a positive result.”

There are reports that Montella could be sacked if he loses again this evening, something Antognoni did not exactly deny.

“We’re taking it one game at a time. The coach is under the spotlight at the moment, but we have faith that Fiorentina will put in a strong performance this evening.

“The result can depend on various different circumstances, but we hope that the team will at least prove it is alive and kicking.”
