“Boateng is an experienced player who has won a great deal, he’s still only 32 and has plenty to give. He’s in great shape physically, is powerful, but also has good technique and is always decisive.
“Lirola is a lad who started out in the Juve youth academy and then did very well at Sassuolo. We are happy to have brought in a reinforcement in an area of the team where we were lacking.”
There continue to be question marks over the future of Federico Chiesa, who has been approached by Juventus, among others.
“The players we have will get accustomed to staying, because you live well in Florence and we have what it takes to build an important team.”
