Ansaldi: ‘Injury not serious’

“Inter has always been a club I liked, especially because of all the Argentines who have been here. I was pleased to get the call from [Piero] Auslio and [Javier] Zanetti, that was reason enough to come here.

“I can play on the right or on the left, because I’m good with both feet. Then we’ll see what the Coach [Frank de Boer] wants to show me, I’ll always do my best.”

Ansaldi’s compatriot Mauro Icardi has been linked with a move to Napoli, but the former Genoa man believes he’ll stay.

“I think he’s clear in his mind that he wants to stay. This club means a lot to him, he’s young and he still has to learn but he knows the responsibility that is implicit in the role of captain.

“He’ll definitely stay here.”

De Boer replaced Roberto Mancini on the bench this week, and Ansaldi was asked about the difference between the two.

“Our game will change a lot with him,” the full-back predicted.

“He likes to play on the counter-attack and then recover. Maybe the club needed a change to see results. We hope De Boer and the rest of the group will understand each other well.

“Sometimes it’s not a question of the budget or big names. In our mind we have the Inter which was always fighting for the League and the Champions League and we’ll do the same.”
