Milan have announced that another three players have tested positive for COVID-19, reported to be Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Davide Calabria.

They join Ciprian Tatarusanu and Samu Castillejo in self-isolation.

Although the three new players have not been named, Sky Sport Italia point out that Tomori, Romagnoli and Calabria did not take part in today’s training session and where not at the Milanello camp.

This would suggest they are not going to be part of the first Serie A game of 2022, which is against Roma at San Siro on Thursday at 17.30 GMT.

Stefano Pioli has not yet announced his squad list, so it is not guaranteed that these are the players who tested positive, but it will point towards them.

It’s a blow for Milan, because they are already missing Fode Ballo-Toure, Franck Kessie and Ismael Bennacer on Africa Cup of Nations duty.

Pietro Pellegri, Simon Kjaer and Alessandro Plizzari are injured.

  1. LMAO

I swear to God I had this feeling this was going to happen. Here I was thinking all through yesterday and today, that with our luck, what if one or both our available center-backs catch COVID?

I guess dreams (nightmares?) really do come true. SMFH

  2. If 5 are definitely positive, more players will test positive over the coming days. Here’s hoping tomorrow’s game is postponed.

  3. a lot of other matches getting postponed and we still have to play without a recognised back 4, what is this madness

  4. Soooooo Inter game got postponed but when we barely have a team we get to play? Wtf is this… never ever brought this up before this it’s too much shady things in serie a

  5. Don’t be stupid Viktor. Inter’s game is postponed because the opponent, bologna, were banned to play by the ASL. They have like 8 first team players out due to Covid.
Inter lost few players but more than happy to play. They’ve already travelled to bologna. Inter beat bologna 6-1 in reverse fixture when bologna had almost full team players available.

How’s bennacer, your beloved midfielder? Still think he’s the best midfielder in serie-A?

  6. @Rian

So why is Milans game still green light? And Inters not? Don’t get it twisted, its very odd they don’t cancel ALL games then. As for Bennacer he is still doing a good job, however Tonali.. he is doing a extremely good job, so I am content. Who cares if they won first leg, that’s has absolutely nothing to do with todays fixture. But hey, you get your free 3 points I’m sure.

  7. Gabbia has been shaky in recent outings and I thought Kalulu was sound enough when he last played at CB. Depends how well they work together though, if they’ve worked as a CB pair in training before. Still, it could be worse…
