Lecce defender Brayan Vera has tested positive for COVID-19 and the entire Serie B squad has gone into an isolated training camp.

This is the second coronavirus case at Lecce, after midfielder Panagiotis Tachtsidis on Monday.

A statement from the club notes Vera was tested later than the others, as he had permission for an extra few days before attending training.

He had the test on Tuesday and it proved positive, so the player is in quarantine, albeit asymptomatic.

As a precaution, Lecce announced they have cancelled this afternoon’s training session and are going into an isolated training camp.

This is similar to the ‘bubble’ created when the teams restarted the season in June after three months of lockdown.

It means the players and staff will remain in one structure where they can sleep, eat and train without contact with anyone outside of the group.
