Torino centre-forward Pietro Pellegri has sustained yet another injury and is expected to be out for several weeks.

The former Genoa, Milan and AS Monaco striker was the first player born in 2000 to score a Serie A goal, but his career has been completely derailed by fitness issues.

Pellegri scored three goals and provided one assist in 13 competitive games so far this season.

He sustained the latest setback in training and tests from the Granata medical staff were not reassuring.

The 21-year-old has been diagnosed with a lesion to the femoral bicep in the right thigh and more tests will be needed to follow the recovery process.

It has been a troubled break for Torino coach Ivan Juric, who also lost Ola Aina, Wilfried Singo and Demba Seck to various injuries.

The Granata will resume their Serie A campaign on January 4 by hosting Hellas Verona at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
