Inter and Milan are expected to announce the project for their new stadium, which will be conceived by the same group that designed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milanese sides will announce the project for their new stadium within the next 24-48 hours.

There have been several meetings between the two clubs and the Milan city council over the last few days, with Milan and Inter picking Populous as the designers for their new home.

They are the same architectural design firm that conceived the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Milan and Inter’s new stadium should be built in the area of San Siro, with the current Stadio Meazza being partially demolished after the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics. The new stadium should be ready in 2027.

It will be smaller than the Meazza, with a seating capacity of 65,000 against the current 80,000.

There will be more executive seats to maximise the revenues, with Inter and Milan are expected to gain €80m each every year from their new home.

  1. At least it will have 65,000 seats, which is less than San Siro but it’s also not around 40,000 which was rumored a few years ago.

  2. Should be in 2027? Should is a very flimsy word when it comes to Italian stadium building lol.

We’ll be lucky to see it in 2047.

It would improve revenue, but that doesn’t automatically mean a better team. Arsenal’s squad strength dropped off a cliff after their move, and Spurs have gotten worse too.

But something needs to be done, because these Italian clubs are all broke.

  3. Better news than any transfer signing, finally AC Milan can start to move forward and be a competitive team, best design chosen imo too. This will make the club an even more attractive purchase for any prospective buyers.

  4. I take great pleasure in knowing we do not share our stadium with anyone. For us by us. But good luck to both teams getting the plans drawn up. I have heard it all before and it will not be completed by 2027.
