Now the Corriere dello Sport is reporting that the player may have to undergo surgery to correct the problem.

According to the newspaper, Michu’s right ankle is continuing to cause problems, and club medical staff now fear that the only option is for the 28-year-old to go under the knife.

Any operation would keep Michu on the sidelines for an extended period of time, adding to Napoli’s woes after Lorenzo Insigne was ruled out for the season with a cruciate ligament injury.
