Boca Juniors President Daniel Angelici says Carlos Tevez’s family wants to return to Argentina but ‘Carlos must define his situation with Juventus’.
The patron flew to Chile yesterday to meet with the Bianconeri striker, who has been heavily linked with a return to his boyhood club.
“We must be cautious, I’ve spoken with him,” Angelici revealed in an interview with TyC Sports.
“He still has a one-year contract with Juventus, one of the best clubs in Italy, which I respect.
“We’ve talked, and his family wants to come back after many years abroad, but Carlos must define his situation with Juventus. When he does, Boca will make our move.
“If it can’t be done, then it will be June next year. We have to take things slowly, and not create false expectations. His head is with the national team, we still have time to talk.
“He’s had offers from several European clubs, such as Atletico Madrid, as well as Juventus who’d like to extend his contract.
“What’s certain is that when he does return to Argentina, the only club he’ll play for is Boca.”
