Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen believes it could be “time to further my career,” amid interest from Milan, Juventus, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
The Danish centre-back has attracted the interest of several big-name clubs from around Europe’s big leagues, and he feels it could be time for him to move on from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
“It could be time to further my career,” he told bt.dk.

The Danish centre-back has attracted the interest of several big-name clubs from around Europe’s big leagues, and he feels it could be time for him to move on from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
“It could be time to further my career,” he told bt.dk.
“I’ve loved my time with Sampdoria, the fans, the President, the staff, the players, and the city, but maybe it is time to move on so I can develop further.
“There are a number of clubs from around Europe’s biggest leagues, and they are in contact with my agent, and I’ll be making a decision shortly together with my family and representatives.
“It’s important to me that Samp will benefit from any transfer deal. It's not all about me, I have so much thanks to this great club. Without them, I wouldn’t have had the opportunities to grow.
“I’ve dreamt about playing for a big club in a big league, and I’m lucky enough to be already playing in one. I think I would be able to adapt to another league, but I’m not saying that it would be easy.”
The defender joined the Blucerchiati from Dutch side FC Twente in 2017 for €1.4m and has gone onto make 42 appearances at Marassi during his time with the club.
“I’ve learned a lot in Italy, I grew up in Denmark and the Netherlands, playing a possession style football. When I first arrived here, I learned a new aspect to defending which added another layer to my football education.
“Most importantly, however, is that I didn’t forget how to play with the ball at my feet, which means I’m still comfortable in possession while developing as a defender.”
It has been rumoured he could reunite with Samp Coach Marco Giampaolo at Milan.
“Giampaolo has played a large role in my development, he is known as one of the best Coaches in Italy when it comes to defensive organisation. I’ve learned a lot from him, and he has made me a more complete footballer.”
The 23-year-old was set to represent his country at this summer’s U21 European Championship, which is being held in Italy and San Marino, but had to withdraw from the squad after picking up an injury towards the end of the season.
“Missing out on the U21 Euro Championships was disappointing as it was my goal to participate in one, of course, I would have loved to play, but instead of turning up being 80 per cent fit, I can focus on being ready for next season, where I can return stronger and fitter.”
