The 22-year-old has made 23 appearances so far this campaign, establishing himself as a virtual ever-present for the Blucerchiati.

Amid speculation linking him with an exit, he has suggested that he isn’t in a rush to leave Marassi.

“I’m only focused on being here, then I’ll see what happens this summer. For now, nothing should happen. It’s still too early,” he told Ekstra Bladet.

“It’s important that a club has a right plan for me, I also wouldn’t mind staying at Sampdoria for another season.

"My favourite League? It’s hard to say. I like England, Spain and Italy. What counts above all though is the club, as they must have a good plan for me in the long term. I have to take the right steps at the right times.

“So, really, I don’t care whether it’s Tottenham, Inter or Atletico Madrid.”
