Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti hopes ‘to win another’ Champions League but doesn’t want to compare his team to the one that won three in a row with Zinedine Zidane.

Ancelotti won La Decima with Los Blancos in 2013-14 and his third after the successes with Milan in 2002-03 and 2006-07.

Real Madrid prepare for the home game against FC Sheriff Tiraspol on Tuesday night, having started the 2021-22 campaign with a 1-0 win over Inter in the first fixture.

“For us, it’s special to represent this club,” Ancelotti said at a press conference. “It’s a more difficult competition but we are more used to winning it than others, we have a small advantage.”

When Ancelotti was coy when asked to compare the current crop to the successful side under coach Zinedine Zidane.

“It’s hard to say, because the squad has changed and I don’t want to compare this team to the one that Zizou had,” Ancelotti said.

“Zizou did the best he could, I wish I could win three Champions League in a row, I wish I could win another one.”

  1. Carlo denied coming back to Milan when they were in one of their worst slumps,

he didnt answer the call when the azzurri were in their darkest hour.

went to Napoli didnt live up to expectations, abrupt departure.

took on job for decent Everton team, ditched them for Real’Madrid.

    doesnt deserve another CL trophy.

  2. I wish every team in Italy had your Champions League mentality ! In Italy, there is a team who is proud at setting the record as the Only Italian team to fail to pass the Champions League group stage for a record 3 years in a row and are so proud of this record that they would rather extend it as the Only Italian team to fail to pass the Champions League group stage for a record 4 years in a row instead of Actually Passing the Champions League group stage …..can you believe that ?
