Ancelotti treats Napoli to chocolate

Carlo Ancelotti has made some big changes to Napoli’s training regime since Maurizio Sarri, including saunas and extra chocolate.

Following three seasons under Sarri, Ancelotti has brought in a more relaxed approach to team management.

The first adjustment was removing pre-match training retreats, known as the ‘ritiro’, and therefore allowing the players to remain at home with their families.

However, he does demand they stay together for breakfast and lunch around training sessions, to encourage bonding over meals.

The food is another element that has changed under Ancelotti, as the Corriere dello Sport claims he has brought in more dried fruit, avocados and above all chocolate for a post-training boost.

There is also a sauna encouraged after morning sessions to help clear toxins and relax the muscles, taking advantage of the summer revamp of the Castel Volturno training ground.
