Transfer expert Matteo Moretto says that Arda Guler’s development ‘surprised many at Real Madrid, including Carlo Ancelotti’, so the La Liga giants decided to keep the Turkey international in April.

After seeing Arda Guler’s training developments, Ancelotti and Real Madrid decided against loaning him out this summer.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto wrote in his latest DailyBriefing transfer column that the 19-year-old’s ‘development has surprised many at Real Madrid, including Ancelotti.’

The Italian tactician ‘has always appreciated Guler’s talent and qualities,’ added Moretto.

Guler struggled with playing time in his first season at the Stadio Bernabeu, but his steady improvements on the pitch convinced Ancelotti and his club to keep him in the team.

According to Moretto, Ancelotti had already decided to keep Guler for 2024-25 this past April.

Ancelotti has taken charge of 296 Real Madrid matches, winning 214, drawing 43 and losing just 39. He has won several trophies at the Bernabeu, most notably three Champions League titles.
