Il Corriere della Sera newspaper report that Ancelotti has now returned to Italy to meet De Laurentiis in order to absolve his contract with the Neapolitan side.

Ancelotti’s Napoli contract doesn’t expire until the end of the season, and La Repubblica state that the club will save around €3m gross for the remaining six months of his contract, plus an extra €500,000 for not renewing it for a further season.

Once Ancelotti is freed from his ties to Napoli, he can take over at Everton. It’s reported that he will sign a deal until 2024 worth a total €27m for he and his backroom staff.
