Carlo Ancelotti reveals Jurgen Klopp gifted him an E-cigarette before last year’s Champions League Final and explains why Vinicius Junior is the most decisive Real Madrid player at the moment.
The Italian tactician will meet Klopp’s Liverpool at Anfield in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday.
During a pre-match interview with Sky Sport Italia, Klopp revealed that he had made a gift to Ancelotti before the 2022 Champions League Final.
“It was an E-cigarette,” Ancelotti said in his interview with Sky Italia.
“Klopp is a very nice person. We were together in Liverpool during the pandemic and we used to text each other and send gifts.”
However, Ancelotti hasn’t brought a present for Klopp this time, as the German tactician expected.
“I’ll give him one in Madrid,” the Italian tactician said, smiling.
Ancelotti was asked whether Vinicius Junior is the player who ‘gives something more’ to Real Madrid at the moment.
“Yes, absolutely. He is always decisive and a tireless player. We are happy because when you think he’s reached his peak, he somehow manages to do something more.”
The 22-year-old has scored 16 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions this season. This past December, during the World Cup in Qatar, he praised the Italian tactician that he ‘is like a father’ to him and explained how the ex-Milan boss has helped him develop.
