Reports in Spain link Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic with a move to Real Madrid, but Carlo Ancelotti insists the Merengues will continue to rely on Karim Benzema next season.

The French striker’s contract at the Estadio Bernabeu expires at the end of the season, but Ancelotti has no doubts that he will extend his stay in the Spanish capital.

“The fact that Madrid need a No.9 is an opinion. We have Karim, who is no longer a kid but will be with us next season,” Ancelotti said at a press conference on Tuesday, as quoted by Marca.

“This is not the right time to think about the next season, now we have a game in La Liga and then in the Champions League.”

The answer on the future of Benzema suggests Madrid won’t be looking for a new centre-forward this season.

Reports in Spain have linked the La Liga giants with a move for Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic, but Ancelotti seems to be happy with his team, especially with Benzema, the latest Ballon d’Or winner.

Vlahovic joined Juventus from Fiorentina for €80m a year ago. Il Corriere dello Sport reported in January that Juventus might sell their striker for €90m at the end of the season, especially if they are banned from European competitions or fail to qualify following a 15-point deduction in Serie A.

Vlahovic has scored 18 goals in 40 appearances with Juventus.
