Paris Saint-Germain already tried and failed to sign Allan last year, then again in the January transfer window.

The refusal to let him go caused tension between club and player, with the 29-year-old increasingly on the outskirts of coach Gennaro Gattuso’s plans.

He is under contract until June 2023 and has made 25 competitive appearances for Napoli this season, contributing one goal and one assist.

Ancelotti was the coach of Napoli until he was fired in December, taking on this new job with Everton just days later.
