Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti insists that Roma’s Daniele De Rossi is not a January target and that Javier Pastore will remain in the French capital.

The Italian’s future at the Olimpico has been placed into doubt after encountering problems with Coach Zdenek Zeman this season.

Manchester City are understood to be very keen on him, but PSG have also been paired with the World Cup winner.

“De Rossi has never been a hot target,” the tactician told Sky Sport Italia. “We have never thought about him, also because we don’t need to sign anyone else.

“The only thing that we need to do is move on a few players who haven’t featured that much. We have a squad of 29 and the ideal is 25.”

Despite the fact that the squad needs to be trimmed, Ancelotti insisted that Pastore – this week linked with Inter – would be going nowhere.

“Pastore to Inter is a story which has popped up because of the Argentine’s recent problems,” the former Milan boss added.

“He had a good start to the season, but then things halted. Nevertheless, he is s player who can certainly make the difference for our club.”
