Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said Jose Mourinho needs to be given ‘time’ at Roma. ‘Inter are doing very well, Roma are in a moment of transition’.

Ancelotti left Serie A in December 2019, when he was replaced by Gennaro Gattuso at Napoli, and he has since spent one and a half years at Everton, before joining Real Madrid in July this year.

He returned to the Spanish capital, where he previously won the Champions League, a Copa del Rey, the FIFA Club World Cup and a UEFA Super Cup.

Ancelotti prepares to face Inter in the Champions League next week and therefore has one eye on the clash between Roma and the Nerazzurri at the Olimpico this weekend.

The veteran coach pointed out that the home side’s coach Mourinho, who won the Treble with Inter in 2009-10, has ‘brought enthusiasm’ back to the Italian capital and hopes the Portuguese coach gets the required support to help turn the Giallorossi into a winning team.

“Inter are doing very well,” Ancelotti said at a press conference ahead of the match against Real Sociedad in La Liga.

“Roma are in a moment of transition. Mourinho has just arrived, he has brought enthusiasm and we need to give him time.”
