Carlo Ancelotti explains how his Real Madrid side could switch positions and tactics in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta this evening. ‘Mobility is going to be crucial.’

It kicks off at the National Stadium in Warsaw at 20.00 UK time (19.00 GMT).

If there is no winner after 90 minutes, then it goes straight to a penalty shoot-out rather than requiring extra time.

Ancelotti builds a brand new Real Madrid

“Defensively, the system depends on Bellingham and if he is on the level of Valverde or pushing forward, so it can be a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1. It’s a small difference, but one we see when we don’t have the ball,” Ancelotti told Marca.

The Merengues are the absolute favourites to follow on the Champions League triumph with the UEFA Super Cup.

Ancelotti is throwing all his star names into the mix, including the debut from the start of Kylian Mbappé, with Jude Bellingham in a deeper midfield role.

“Vinicius and Mbappé can swap positions, too. Mobility is going to be crucial.”

Eduardo Camavinga was set to play, but was ruled out by a knee injury he sustained during the warm-up last night.

“With Camavinga’s injury, I thought about putting in a strong attacking line-up. He’s doing better than we thought, I think we could hopefully have him back in about a month.”
