Real Madrid have qualified for the Champions League Final where Carlo Ancelotti could become the first-ever coach to win the trophy four times.

The Merengues completed an incredible comeback against Manchester City at the Bernabeu in the second leg of the Champions League semis. They were 1-0 down at minute 90, but Rodrygo scored twice in the stoppages, sending the game to extra time. Karim Benzema completed the job, scoring the winner from the spot in extra time.

Ancelotti looking to make history against Liverpool in Champions League Final

The La Liga giants will face Liverpool in the Final at Paris’ Stade de France on May 28. Ancelotti has already won the Champions League three times, like Bob Paisley and Zizou Zidane, his former assistant at the Bernabeu.

If he beats the Reds he will become the first coach to win the trophy four times. The former Milan tactician has already made history, having reached the fifth Champions League Final in his career, the most of any other coach. Surely, he will be looking for more in three weeks.

The ex-Milan boss won the La Liga title last weekend, becoming the first coach to triumph in the top five European leagues.

  1. I’m beginning to believe in the bernabeu magic. That was not an ordinary match!

Forza Carletto! Masterstroke of a tactical switch to 4-4-2 and substitutions to rescue the game at the death. He really is the king of the Champions League.

  2. Nothing like an Italian manager, who happens to be the greatest manager in European football history leading the greatest club in European football history into their 14th final !!!
The fact it happened against the English team, many call the best in the world, is even more tasteful.
Ancelotti and Real Madrid deserve all their success this season.
    Grande Carlo!!

  3. What a coach and he made the right subs and calls at the right time. First season back at historically the biggest team in the world and has won back the league title and could add another CL. A coach that actually gives youngsters a chance and boy did it pay off. Credit to City who made this one of the best Semi’s seen in a long time. Two teams going toe to toe. If that were PhD 2.0 Max no youngster will ever see the light of day in a CL match and if playing against City Dusan will be an emergency defensive midfielder, 11 men packed behind the ball and 5 heavy duty padlocks all bolted.

  4. Rather City had won, either Liverpool square the number of Champs Leagues with Milan or Madrid pull further away from us…

  5. @Milan Ric
Totally agree. But at the same time tremendously happy for Ancelotti as a win for him somehow feels good in the Milan heart. Bittersweet-sweet

  6. Oh aye @doolians, love Carlo. Humble guy despite being ace at playing and coaching and never forgot his influence at Milan . Final wise I’m just not sure who to root for? Can’t be doing with bin dippers equaling us and having to win another 7 to match Madrid!

  7. Ancelotti is the only hope of anything Italian in a final (aside a ref)!
    The guys a genius.
I hate Real and hate Liverpool more. Only saving grace is IF Real win Ancelotti enters the history books where he absolutely deserves to be.
    Forza Don Carlo

  8. Totally agree with doolians_1@hotmail.com and Milan Ric.
We’re not even close to matching RM record.. it’s better to see Liverpool lose their 7th.
Back in 2014, in the La Decima final, most Italians, including the Milanistas (Galliani, Crudelli, Sacchi, Ruiu, etc.), were cheering for Carlo & Real Madrid.

  9. Hey do not forget @Lord, Allegri won us our last league title but I agree that his football is so outdated and predictable. He should go back and do an apprenticeship with Don Carlo.

  10. Bravo Carlo, can’t stand Madrid but can’t begrudge the old master getting to another final. Orsato didn’t cover himself in glory, that was a strange performance, Casemiro apparently had 9 lives, and he allowed himself to be played by Madrid in extra time too easily.

  11. He will never coach Italy . It’s to bad I always wanted to see him coach national team and win a World Cup to add to his CL titles

  12. remember ADL blame ancelotti for ruining napoli. yet ADL should blame himself, he treat his player like kindergarten kid. he make them went retreat which ancelotti disagree. its happening with gattuso, and now happening again with spaletti. what a joke

  13. So, two teams that beat Inter and makes inter strongly criticize by media, then labelled as 60’s football by some old man is BOTH on final

  14. I see some folks praising Ancelotti as some kind of super human. Truth is a coach is as good as his club. If not so,he would’ve stayed and win both the Premier league and CL with Everton. Though,I like Ancelotti. Wishing him and Real.Madrid all the best.
