Carlo Ancelotti has left the residence of Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis after a three-hour meeting, but more talks are expected tomorrow.

The tactician arrived at the building in Rome, which is home to ADL’s Filmauro movie production company, along with his wife.

There he met De Laurentiis and director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli for a three-hour summit.

He was filmed arriving and then leaving, even though Ancelotti tried to hide his face in the back seat of the car.

It is widely reported that a basic agreement on a three-year contract was reached and more details will be discussed on Wednesday.

The question now is what Napoli will do about Maurizio Sarri, who is still under contract and has not yet made a decision on his future.

It looks as if De Laurentiis has taken it out of Sarri’s hands and already secured a replacement.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli plan to fire Sarri the moment Ancelotti puts pen to paper.

There are even suggestions that not only does Sarri have a clause worth €8m to buy himself out of the contract, but that Napoli also have a clause allowing them to terminate early for just €0.5m.

Sarri is said to be unimpressed by the Zenit St Petersburg proposal, so would either go to Chelsea or take a year out.

Chelsea are mulling their own problems, because Antonio Conte is unwilling to resign and his FA Cup victory made owner Roman Abramovich reconsider a dismissal.
