Carlo Ancelotti said the pressure at Real Madrid is “the same at Chelsea, PSG and Milan,” but he’s not ready for the Italy job.

The Coach sat down with Italian TV show Grand Hotel Chiambretti to discuss his past, present and future.

“Real Madrid’s objectives are very clear: they give you every possibility to compete at the top level in every competition, so the objective is to win.

“The same thing happened at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain or Milan, because every side has its objectives and for a Coach it doesn’t matter whether the target is to avoid relegation or lift a trophy. The work doesn’t change.”

Ancelotti joked about his alleged status as second-highest paid tactician in the world behind Jose Mourinho on €15m, saying he gets “much, much more than that” and would like to meet Juventus in the Champions League Final.

Alvaro Morata left Real Madrid for Juve and implied he wouldn’t return if Ancelotti was still in charge.

“Our job means we cannot make everyone happy, especially players who have more talented options in front of them.

“Morata unfortunately had the likes of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the same squad, so struggled to find the playing time he wanted.”

With Antonio Conte increasingly tense in the Italy job, would Ancelotti be prepared to take over in future?

“I don’t think it’s possible, as right now I still love what I am doing, which means working every day on the pitch. Having a part-time role wouldn’t get my enthusiasm going.”
