Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is still positive for COVID, meaning he won’t travel to London with his team today.

The Italian tactician had a positive swab test last week and was replaced by his son and assistant Davide in Real Madrid’s win over Celta Vigo on Saturday. According to Marca, the 62-year-old hasn’t yet recovered and is still testing positive for COVID, meaning he won’t travel to Stamford Bridge today.

He could get on a flight for England tomorrow if his new swab test is negative.

Real Madrid face Chelsea tomorrow in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals. Ancelotti spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge between 2009 and 2011, winning 68 of his 109 games in charge of the Blues. He won one Premier League, one FA Cup and one Charity Shield during his time at the club.

The former Milan and PSG coach signed a three-year deal with Real Madrid last summer and is en route to winning his first La Liga title as a coach.
