Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti confirms he has been approached to take over as the new coach of Brazil, but ‘I told them I have a contract with Real Madrid and want to respect it.’

The former Milan, Juventus and Parma boss made history so many times in recent years, including as the only man to win all of the top five league titles in Italy, England, Spain, France and Germany.

His success in the Champions League has also been legendary, leading him to become the first choice for Brazil to revitalise the Seleçao.

“It is true, Brazil want me to be their international coach and it is a prospect that excites me,” confessed Ancelotti in his press conference for Real Madrid this afternoon.

“Anyone can say what they like, but this is the reality of the situation. I told them I have a contract with Real Madrid and want to respect it. That’s simple.

“Having said that, nobody can know what the future holds.”

Ancelotti’s contract with the Merengues runs to June 2024 and there have already been reports he could terminate that a year early if he fails to win either LaLiga or the Champions League this season.

Meanwhile, the Italian also denied categorically that he will retire after leaving Real Madrid for the second time in his career.

“All I am focused on is doing well for this club. I will continue here as long as Real Madrid allow me to.”
