Carlo Ancelotti reveals he was close to returning to Milan twice, including last season after he left Bayern Munich.

The Napoli Coach won the Champions League twice with the Rossoneri, as well as the Scudetto, and has been repeatedly linked with a return.

“Twice,” Ancelotti responded, when asked by Corriere della Sera if he’d actually been close to returning to San Siro.

“Then another time with [Marco] Fassone there was half an approach after I left Bayern.”

Carletto is known for his calm demeanour, but was asked what makes him angry in a player.

“Those who don’t play and then train badly make me lose my head. I understand if they’re angry, but not if they train badly. It’s selfishness, because it damages the whole team.

“Attention has to be shifted to others, not on themselves. I’ve read that 90 per cent of Americans between the ages of 15 and 21 suffer from stress, and the reason is there’s too much self-centredness.

“There’s only one medicine: if you’re stressed you need to be more altruistic.”
