According to Marca, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was against Casemiro’s move to Manchester United and hoped to persuade the Brazil international to stay at the Bernabeu.

The 30-year-old is on the verge of moving to Old Trafford in a €60m deal plus €10m add-ons. According to reports in the UK, he is expected to undergo his medical with the Red Devils in the coming hours.

Casemiro has won the Champions League five times in Madrid, twice with Ancelotti in charge. Therefore, the Italian tactician didn’t want to part ways with the Brazilian midfielder and tried to persuade him to stay at the club.

Marca.com reports Ancelotti ‘didn’t want to part ways with one of his faithfuls’ and ‘one the most reliable players’ in the Real Madrid squad.

Nevertheless, Casemiro seems on his way to Old Trafford with the two clubs who have reportedly agreed on the player’s price tag.

Ancelotti has two years left in his contract with Real Madrid and confirmed last week that he would retire at the end of the current spell in the Spanish capital.

  1. Feel for ancelotti – he wants him to stay – but madrid happy with the transfee fee and casemiro happy with the wage which is reported around £300,00-£350,000 a week.

But im sure madrid will can play Camavinga / tchouameni if not they can buy Wilfred Ndidi, declan rice, Ruben Neves, Marcelo Brozovic
