Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti admits ‘there isn’t much difference’ between Jude Bellingham and Kaka, but the Milan legend has ‘changed’ the attacking midfield role.

Ancelotti spoke to Sky Sport Italia ahead of tonight’s Champions League match between Real Madrid and RB Leipzig at the Estadio Bernabeu.

Bellingham has had a tremendous impact in the Spanish capital, scoring 20 goals and providing eight assists in 30 appearances across all competitions in his first season under Ancelotti.

The England international has been compared to Milan legend Kaka and Ancelotti sees similarities between them.

“Yeah, they are similar. I think there isn’t much difference,” the Italian tactician admitted.

When Milan welcomed Kaka in 2003, Ancelotti said the Rossoneri had signed the ‘player of the future’ can he say the same now?

“I think the game has changed since Kaka and also the characteristics of footballers playing in that position,” the coach replied.

“Attacking midfielders are physically more powerful than 20 years ago when those players had more talent than power. In modern football, these players have evolved.”

Kaka scored 104 goals in 307 matches with the Rossoneri, winning, among other trophies, one Serie A title, one Champions League and one Ballon d’Or. He netted 95 times in 270 Milan games under Ancelotti at San Siro. The ex-Brazilian star retired in 2017.
