According to Il Corriere dello Sport, tension is high between Fiorentina, Barcelona directors and coach Xavi who ‘repeatedly called’ Sofyan Amrabat on the deadline day, trying to force his exit from the Stadio Franchi.

The Catalans tried to sign Amrabat on the deadline making a loan offer with an option to buy. It was immediately rejected by the Tuscans who did not want to part ways with the Morocco international, especially on an initial short-term deal.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Xavi stepped up in negotiations calling the player many times on Tuesday and causing Fiorentina’s anger.

Directors of the Serie A side believe Barcelona behave in a non-professional way, talking to Amrabat despite not receiving the green light from them.

Amrabat didn’t show up for training on Tuesday and posted an Instagram story where he appeared to push for a transfer to Camp Nou.

He was not included in the squad for today’s Coppa Italia match against Torino.
