Tottenham Hotspur are close to securing Sofyan Amrabat on loan with option to buy from Fiorentina for circa €15m.

According to Calciomercato.com and Sky Sport Italia, the negotiations are progressing rapidly between the clubs and Amrabat is enthusiastic about the transfer to London.

The 25-year-old Morocco international was signed from Hellas Verona for almost €20m in January 2020, remaining on loan at the Stadio Bentegodi until the summer.

However, he has barely featured in the Viola jersey, this season making 12 competitive appearances, most of them off the bench.

Currently at the Africa Cup of Nations, Amrabat could be allowed to leave on loan with an option to buy for circa €15m.

Tottenham need a midfielder to replace Tanguy Ndombele, who is in negotiations for a transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Manager Antonio Conte is believed to admire Amrabat for his work-rate and determination in the tackle, which could suit the Premier League.

The player was born in the Netherlands, representing Utrecht, Feyenoord and in Belgium Club Brugge before coming to Serie A in 2019.
