Amrabat apologises to Fiorentina after forcing Barcelona transfer

Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has reportedly apologised to club directors and teammates after forcing a late transfer to Barcelona and has been included in the squad list for today’s Coppa Italia game with Torino.

Sky Sport and Radio Bruno report that the Morocco international apologised to Fiorentina on Wednesday, one day after refusing to train with the team, trying to force a late transfer to Barcelona.

According to the reports, Fiorentina directors have accepted the player’s apology, so he will be available for today’s Coppa Italia game against Torino, although this doesn’t mean he will start.

Amrabat had been pushing to finalise the deal with Barcelona even on social media, where he posted a cryptical message hours after the news of the offer from Catalunya emerged.

Fiorentina refused to sell because the La Liga giants hadn’t offered enough money and wanted to get the player on loan with an option to buy. The Tuscans’ director are said to be furious with Barcelona and their coach Xavi who repeatedly called the player on Tuesday, persuading him to force his exit from the Stadio Franchi.
