Former Juventus striker Nicola Amoruso weighed in on the upcoming Champions League semi-final clash between Milan and Inter, believing the Nerazzurri have a slight edge.

The two Milanese teams are gearing up for the most important Derby della Madonnina in recent history, with the winner of the tie earning a spot in the Champions League final, where they’ll face the winner of Real Madrid-Manchester City.

Inter have had the edge of Derby della Madonnina clashes this season, winning once in the league and the Supercoppa Italiana final, something that’ll undoubtedly give them an extra slice of confidence.

Speaking to TMW, Amoruso first underlined the importance of star winger Rafael Leao to Milan.

“Let’s say that Leao moves the needle a bit. I believe that he will be there, that Milan will do everything to have him back because someone like him with his runs, his plays, makes the difference.

“Because with Leao on the pitch, the chances of victory are 50-50, otherwise 70-30 in Inter’s favour.”

He then touched on the strength in depth of the two Milanese sides and what is an added bonus for each team.

“I would say that Inter’s attack is more complete, they have more options, more alternatives. Milan lacked the contribution of the players they had bet on.

“However, Milan have many resources, many ideas and Pioli is a master in this aspect, so I would not dwell only on the players but I would make a general discourse on the qualities of a group that has won and can go all the way in this competition.”

Inter also have a slight edge in the top four race compared to Milan, sitting fourth with a two-point advantage.
