Napoli chose David Ospina because “he is reminiscent of Pepe Reina,” said Marco Amelia ahead of his possible debut against Milan.
The goalkeeper arrived on loan with option to buy from Arsenal on transfer deadline day, so missed the 2-1 win away to Lazio in the opening weekend.
It remains to be seen if Carlo Ancelotti will choose Ospina or Orestis Karnezis for the gloves with Milan, as Alex Meret is ruled out by a broken bone in his arm.

“Napoli chose Ospina because he is reminiscent of Pepe Reina,” former shot-stopper Amelia told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“He also helps pass the ball around along with the defence and becomes useful if there is pressing on the defenders. He is a little shorter than most goalkeepers, but that only matters to a certain degree, as he has very quick reflexes.
“However, foreign goalkeepers tend to take a little white to adapt to Serie A and he has to improve when coming off his line. If Ospina is able to settle in quickly, he can be a great addition to the squad.”
Napoli needed a new goalkeeper after Reina joined Milan as a free agent following the expiry of his contract.
