Ex-Milan goalkeeper Marco Amelia reveals how Mario Balotelli “makes teammates angry” in the locker room and in a game.
Balotelli has now moved to Liverpool and Amelia is a free agent, but the goalkeeper was asked what it was like to be SuperMario’s teammate.
“In the locker room it’s almost as if he weren’t there at all. You have to drag words out of him,” Amelia told Sportitalia.
“During a game he has this almost mocking attitude that makes his teammates angry, but deep down he’s a good lad.
“You can’t not celebrate after a goal, as that is the most important moment of joy for a player. I hope he can return to the Italy squad, as that will mean he’s travelled a certain path to get there.”
Amelia also said he was “part sad, part relieved” when Milan fired Massimiliano Allegri and saw Clarence Seedorf had a “tricky relationship with the club, but the fans certainly did not hate him.
“Pippo Inzaghi has a lot of experience on the field and worked with great Coaches, so I’m sure he learned from them. I am convinced his passion will take him to some important results.”
