Former Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini has praised the work of coach Stefano Pioli and said the Rossoneri are now ‘ready to win the championship’.

The Diavolo are second in Serie A after seven games and secured a big 3-2 win over Atalanta ahead of the current international break.

Milan are unbeaten in the League, winning all bar one, against Juventus on September 19.

Ambrosini won the Champions League twice and picked up four Scudetti during his career with the Rossoneri and believes Pioli’s team are now ready.

“Pioli’s Milan are absolutely ready to win the championship,” Ambrosini told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “They have two strengths, the awareness of their own means and the variety of solutions.

“Technique and tactics, the coach can propose something new in every match. The Diavolo is more complete than the others.”

  1. It is always great to from you Ambro. You were my favorite in the Milan midfield with great tackles and sacrifice. Will always remember you for your sacrifices for our colors.

I hope the injuries subsides soonest so that we can deliver the title to our club and fans

  2. It fills my heart with joy to see Milan making early strides to challenge for the Scudetto and see the improvements they have made under Pioli.

However, my head says the gap has closed mainly as a result of CL teams Inter, Juve and Atalanta selling key players and getting weaker rather than Milan getting considerably stronger

  3. Francis, you wouldn’t happen to be an unhappy Inter fan always embarrassed with Inter’s Champions League results these last couple years, would you? First year back, took the lead at Liverpool and were robbed by a now suspended referee vs Spanish Champions, with no wins we are heads and tails above Inter in……..both leagues!
