Ricky Alvarez appears to be close to a Porto move, following a dispute between Inter and Sunderland.

The Argentinian spent last season on loan with the Black Cats, with a clause included in the deal stating the English side had to pay €10.5m to buy him if they stayed up.

The Mackems did indeed stay in the English Premier League, but argued that they shouldn’t have to pay the money as Alvarez was injured for most of the season.

The Mackems did indeed stay in the English Premier League, but argued that they shouldn’t have to pay the money as Alvarez was injured for most of the season.

The matter was referred to FIFA for arbitration, with the midfielder unable to join San Lorenzo in his homeland, as the situation was not resolved.

However, according to Superportistas, Alvarez is currently in Oporto, and is close to agreeing a move to the Dragao.

It is not clear whether Inter and Sunderland have resolved their dispute, or if Alvarez’s signature would be pending a ruling from FIFA.
