Marcos Alonso says Roma are “very strong” and knows Chelsea will have to watch out for Edin Dzeko.

The English champions face the Giallorossi in the Champions League tomorrow, and the former Fiorentina full-back spoke in the pre-match Press conference from Cobham.

“They’re a very strong team,” Alonso said.

“I think they’ve still got the bloc they had when I was playing in Italy. Tomorrow will be difficult, we’ll have to give 100 per cent to win.

“They’re a very strong team,” Alonso said.

“I think they’ve still got the bloc they had when I was playing in Italy. Tomorrow will be difficult, we’ll have to give 100 per cent to win.

“They’ve got a strong core, I’ve always liked [Edin] Dzeko and I think he’s in good form, so we’ll have to be attentive to him, but also the whole team.”

The Blues lost to Crystal Palace at the weekend, the first time the Eagles had won or even scored all season.

“We’ve worked very well in the couple of days, we’ve recovered well and hopefully we’re going to play a much better game tomorrow.

“We’ve been recovering and preparing the game for tomorrow, and as I’ve said the team is working very well and is ready for tomorrow.

“We’ve had a good start in the Champions League, we just have to keep playing his way, and tomorrow is a good chance to do better than the last couple of games in the Premier League.

“The win at Atletico Madrid? That game is gone. I think the team is looking forward to this game, because it’s good opportunity for us to change things in terms of the last game and motivation is high for tomorrow and we’ll try to get the three points.

“Tomorrow we have the Champions League to keep doing well in this competition to get closer to what we want, which is to finish the group as the first team.”

Alvaro Morata has been out injured, but he could return tomorrow.

“He’s ready, he’s been training very well,” Alonso confirmed.

“I don’t know if he’ll make it to the starting XI but he’s working very well and he’s been a very important player for us at the start of the season.

“If he plays tomorrow I’m sure he’ll be as good as the start of the season.”
