Fiorentina defender Marcos Alonso felt the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham was “over the top,” but conceded it was a deserved elimination.
“Perhaps the 3-0 result is a bit over the top, but they were superior on the night and deserved to qualify,” Alonso told Sky Sport Italia.
The first leg in this Europa League Round of 32 ended 1-1 at the Stadio Franchi, but this time the Viola were unable to claw their way back in after conceding a first half goal.

“It was difficult, we should’ve scored in the first half, but we didn’t let our heads drop. It really got complicated after the second goal.

Fiorentina face a huge head-to-head with Napoli on Monday evening.
