The long-running transfer saga appeared to be drawing to a close today, with reports that a deal was all-but done, and the winger left out of the Wolfsburg squad.
However, speaking after the Champions League draw, the sporting director of the Bundesliga club painted a very different picture.
“Everything seems to point to him staying at Wolfsburg,” Allofs insisted, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.
“Inter have been seriously trying to get him, but the player won’t come cheap and maybe that’s a problem.
“Will I meet [Inter’s Marco] Fassone? Don’t believe the rumours.”
