Massimiliano Allegri was happy with Juventus‘ draw against Atalanta, but his post-match quotes have sparked a debate on the Bianconeri’s ambition this season.

The Old Lady earned a point in Bergamo on Sunday but had to thank their goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczęsny, for the eventual 0-0 draw.

Nevertheless, coach Allegri was satisfied with the ‘result and performance’ although his men ‘could have done more technically.’

His post-match quotes did not impress many fans who questioned their coach’s ambition on social media.

The hashtag #Allegriout was trending in Italy on Sunday as frustrated fans were unhappy with the Old Lady’s defensive performance in Bergamo. Juventus had two goal-scoring opportunities against Atalanta’s eight and managed just five attempted shots against Atalanta’s 15. However, La Dea recorded just two shots on target, while Juventus had three.

After hearing Allegri’s quotes, some fans mentioned an old Giorgio Chiellini quote about Alessandro Del Piero. Chiellini once said the ex-striker was furious at seeing his teammates happy for a draw, which, at Juventus, feels like a defeat.

Allegri has been reiterating that Juventus’ target this season is to finish in the top four, claiming Napoli, Milan and Inter are on a different level. Some call it realism, others mediocrity.

  1. Sack Allegri and buy fast players with technique. Playing McKennie as a wingers says it all. Where are all the creativity???
