Massimiliano Allegri still has some work to do with Juventus but he ‘can build a team around’ star striker Dusan Vlahovic, the Italian media note.

The Bianconeri picked up an important 3-2 win over Empoli yesterday, where Moise Kean opened the scoring before Vlahovic netted a second half brace. A late consolation goal by Andrea La Mantia didn’t change the final result.

Allegri was praised for stabilising Juventus’ results a little and “he’s found an ideal player” in the Serbian striker, although La Gazzetta dello Sport note he needs “to rearrange some of the movements at the back.” The Bianconeri “didn’t enchant” Corriere della Sera, but they still picked up an important result.

Things were much more positive for Vlahovic, who made yesterday’s game into a one-man show. La Gazzetta dello Sport lauded the Serbian, saying that “you can build a team around him and goodnight CR7”, referencing how Juventus previously had to rely on Cristiano Ronaldo for the majority of their goals.

Corriere dello Sport called Vlahovic “the permanent centre of gravity” and Corriere della Sera highlighted that he’s “a tornado that swept away Empoli”.

Allegri’s ratings in the Italian newspapers:

La Gazzetta dello Sport: 6.5

Corriere della Sera: 6.5

Corriere dello Sport: 7

Tuttosport: 7

Vlahovic’s ratings in the Italian newspapers:

La Gazzetta dello Sport: 8

Corriere della Sera: 8

Corriere dello Sport: 8.5

Tuttosport: 9
