Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri will decide whether to pick Ronaldinho in his starting line-up for tomorrow's Champions League clash with Ajax.

The Brazil international suffered a knock in training yesterday, scuppering Allegri's reported plans to use him.

"Milan will go out on the pitch to play an important game," Allegri explained. "Dinho didn't train yesterday."

"If he recovers, he'll play with Robinho by his side. Ibra will start on the bench."

Allegri isn't a fan of rotation, but La Gazzetta dello Sport understands he will welcome Ronaldinho back in the fold to further experiment with his midfield.

Milan are working on having two variants of the 4-3-1-2 formation, one with Andrea Pirlo and Robinho and the other with Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.

Obviously the latter is unworkable at the moment given Pato's absence through injury, hence Allegri's preference to play Ronaldinho alongside Robinho tomorrow night.

However, it would appear that the former World Player of the Year is still considered an alternative to Clarence Seedorf whose balanced play has made his Milan's No 1 trequartista.
