Massimiliano Allegri believes Chelsea won’t give any reference point to Juventus without Romelu Lukaku and reveals Dejan Kulusevski didn’t train this morning because of a dentist appointment.

Lukaku had played the reverse fixture in Turin won by the Old Lady in September but he later picked up an ankle injury which has kept him out of action for over a month. He could make his comeback against the Serie A giants tomorrow night.

Juventus visit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow and a victory would allow the Bianconeri to win Group H.

“Tomorrow, we play for first place against the Premier League leaders and the Champions League winners,” Allegri said at a press conference.

“Without Lukaku, they have different characteristics differently. They’ll have fewer reference points and do more counterattacks.

“Lukaku is a reference point. They gain speed without him and defend differently.”

The Tuscan tactician is dealing with a few injuries too, especially in defence. Danilo will remain out of action for eight weeks and both Giorgio Chiellini and Mattia De Sciglio are on the treatment table.

“We have four defenders, including Alex Sandro. In midfield, everyone is available except Bernardeschi,” said Allegri.

“Danilo will be out for two months and Kulusevski went to the dentist. That’s why he didn’t train today. He will be available tomorrow.”

Paulo Dybala has recovered from a slight calf injury. He trained with the rest of the team this morning, but is he fit to start?

“I don’t know how long he can play, but he trained with the team and he is available,” Allegri claimed.

De Ligt highlights Chelsea’s strengths

“Moise Kean or Alvaro Morata will start, maybe they will play 45 minutes each. Morata played well against Lazio, same as Kean when he was introduced.

“We need to improve the finishing, we create important chances, but we often have the last pass wrong,” Allegri continued.

“We need serenity and do not rush to score goals. We netted two against Lazio on Saturday, but we could have scored more. The are the preconditions for creating actions, that’s where we need to improve.”

Are Juventus missing Ronaldo in terms of goals scored?

“That’s the past, Ronaldo has been a centralizer everywhere he’s gone. We have many players who can score goals, we haven’t fulfilled our potential yet,” Allegri concluded.

  1. Yes, another incredibly smart transfer move by Marotta – on his way of becoming club legend at Inter.

Anyway, Chelsea don`t need Lukaku to beat Allegri`s JuBentus.

  2. Stop criticising Allegri he has it figured out with or without Lukaku. The plan is too have 11 men behind the ball, try to get a goal and then have everybody hiding under a blanket waiting for bedtime.

  3. That is right Ricky, Allegri is preparing to park that bus. Maybe it will need 3 days to leave London as the wheels will be doubled clamped.

  4. @nobody misses inter: that poor “I MISS JUVENTUS IN SERIE B” is just upset that Allegri did more in 4 champions League games than Conte did in 2 years and that is ‘WIN 4 GAMES” If i was suffering the curse of Prescription which means basically to go over a decade without playing a round of 16 match AND set the record as the only Italian team to fail to pass the Champions League group stage 3 years in a row AND still have the possibility of extending that record by failing to pass the Champions League group stage 4 years in a row i would be bitter too but that is what it means to be an Interista – to look at Juve’s success and come up with excuses as to whom to blame – Kinda like Inter did vs Lazio when they got smashed 3-1 fair and square and still protested because let’s face it, Inter and Interisti can never blame themselves for their own failures !
